Todays topic COFFEE!!!

Funnily enough, I'm sitting here writing this WITH my coffee! So like many things, coffee being bad is just another MYTH! That is, if your coffee consumption is a HEALTHY consumption! Reasons why coffee could be bad1. you are replacing food with coffee and not having breakfast but only a coffee2. you rely on it to exist in the world and feel you can't go on without it 3. You have 5 double shots a day 4. You feel anxious and jittery when you have coffee5. you struggle to sleep because you've had a late coffee or too much coffee6. It messes up your digestion or makes you feel sickIF any of the above is happening to you that's when it's a bad thing! But coffee can have some really positive effects if we have the right relationship with it, or if we have it in moderation. Benefits of coffee(from this website source https://www.self.com/story/is-coffee-bad-for-you)

1. Coffee boosts your brainpower and mood.

Consuming low-to-moderate doses of caffeine (up to about 300 mg, or three average cups) can actually sharpen your attention, increase your alertness, and speed up your reaction time, according to a study published in Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews in 2016.

2. Coffee may help reduce chronic disease risk.

Antioxidants, like those found in coffee, are compounds that benefit our bodies by regulating levels of free radicals—unstable molecules that in excess can damage healthy body cells through oxidative stress, which is thought to contribute to the development of diseases like cancer, type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease, as SELF has explained. This is thought to be why antioxidant consumption is often associated with decreases in chronic disease and cancer risk—for example, there is research linking drinking coffee with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes and oral cancer.

3. Coffee helps you give it your all during a workout.

Caffeine’s stimulant effects can have a noted impact on exercise performance—including aerobic endurance and muscular strength—especially if you’re sweating it out early and are still kinda zonked, according to a 2021 review from the International Society of Sports Medicine. “For a healthy athlete looking to improve performance during workouts, I might recommend a cup of coffee 45 minutes before exercise,” Ilisa Nussbaum, MPH, RDN, a clinical dietitian nutritionist at Yale New Haven Hospital, tells SELF.

Having a cup of coffee in the morning can be part of someone's daily routine and feel quite mindful. I love the process of making a coffee and sitting with it in the morning, I love the ritual and I also love the going out for coffee with friends feel too! I used to be someone who never drank coffee and since having it I love going for coffee with my friends as opposed to before I'd sit with my water cause I never wanted to pay for a tea haha So Moral of the story! As long as you aren't replacing food with coffee, not drinking it every hour and if it's not stopping you from sleeping and making you feel anxious and jittery then it's completely fine!! Coffee is great and it tastes delicious and makes us feel that little bit of a buzzzzzzz!!!Have a fabulous day!!!! Lots of love Mik xxx
